Oregon voters passed Measure 109 in November 2020, making Oregon the very first state in the US to legalize psilocybin. Under the new law, regulated and licensed facilities in Oregon will be allowed to manufacture and distribute psilocybin for medicinal use. These facilities are called “psilocybin service centers,” and their primary goal is to establish a safe and supportive environment for individuals to benefit from the psychedelic effects of this substance.
Psilocybin mushrooms are not a cure-all, but they have been shown to have significant positive effects on some mental health issues. Studies on psilocybin suggest that it can be a powerful healing tool in treating various mental illnesses, including depression, anxiety, PTSD, and addiction. Psilocybin can also increase creativity, mental flexibility, and social intelligence.
